Silgan is proud to introduce the latest advancement in design technology, a new 3D - ZScan 700 from ZCorporation.
This innovative technology is the first of its kind to offer real-time 3D laser surfacing in a hand held device. The ZScan software creates a polygon mesh of the object’s surface in real-time allowing the user to see the scan in progress.
Used on a number of projects already, the new scanner allows our Product Development Engineers to reverse engineer and enhance new packages during development. Also, the scanner’s small size makes the device portable for use at other Silgan locations. The 3D-ZScan allows Silgan to shorten new product development time and reduce costs by capturing geometry of manufacturing components and molds.
The Norcross Creative Services group is currently using the device to create a bottle shaped like a Batman by scanning the action figure and then morphing the polygon mesh onto a chosen bottle footprint. What shapes can Silgan bring to your packaging?
